Ashley is a tattoo artist from South East London who began his apprenticeship while finishing school and has been tattooing since 2016. He specialises in black and grey realism, particularly high-contrast dark female portraits using the 3RL style. Inspired by seeing tattooists create their own unique styles, he enjoys pushing his craft and developing his signature approach. Ashley is a resident at No Regrets London.

Where are you from? I’m from south east London

How long have you been tattooing? I’ve been tattooing for about nine years, I started learning to tattoo in 2016.

What inspired you to become a tattoo artist? At school I studied famous tattooists in my art class, seeing how they could make up their own style and not be restricted to any norms really inspired me.

What is your background? I started my tattoo apprenticeship whilst I was still finishing school.

What style do you specialise in? I specialise in black and grey realism in the 3RL style, particularly portraits.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to spend time outdoors, walking my dog in the countryside.

What’s your favourite kind of tattoo to do? I love tattooing dark female portraits with super high contrast.

What’s the coolest tattoo you’ve done? It’s so hard to pick the coolest but I would probably say the first time I experimented with using 3RL, it was on a portrait and it really opened the door to developing my style to what I do today.
