Where are you from?
I am from Cebu, Philippines.
How long have you been tattooing?
I focused on tattooing since 2016 so 8 years now.
What inspired you to become a tattoo artist?
I used to be a tattoo collector before I became a tattoo artist. Tattooing did interest me back then but I never acted on that interest until I met my husband, Jastein. He was still a few years into his tattoo career when we met and the level of hard work, discipline and determination he put into tattooing despite the challenges really inspired me. He is my mentor, inspiration and my biggest critic, and I am very grateful for the support he has given me and for everything he has taught me.
What is your background?
I only finished my 3rd year in high school then I started work and became independent. Some of my previous jobs were in the gaming industry and real estate.
What style do you specialise in?
I have tried different styles but I really love doing fine line/line work and micro-realism tattoos both in black and grey and colour the most. I used to do just small pieces but now that I get to do some larger-scale ones, I enjoy working on them too.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Aside from walking outdoors with my husband, I also love to watch movies and anime. I love to read too but I haven’t done that much lately.
What’s your favourite kind of tattoo to do?
I love doing floral tattoos, insects or bugs, a smaller version of things, or anything small and cute really.
What’s the coolest tattoo you’ve done?
There are a lot of tattoos I’ve done that I’m in love with, but I think one of the coolest pieces I’ve done is the Calvin and Hobbes themed leg half sleeve. Since most parts of it were from the Calvin and Hobbes comics, people often ask the collector if they can read his tattoos haha! It was one of the biggest projects I’ve done and I really enjoyed working on that piece!
